What is the role about and who are you?
Around our fuel cell stacks are the vital Balance of Plant components to complement the complex power systems we are creating. Within the Balance of Plant, pneumatic and cooling sub-systems will be developed by you.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering & Product Manager, you will:
- Design the components of pneumatic and cooling sub-systems numerically to help build the numerical power system model on Matlab/Simulink.
- Through the optimization study on the numerical power system model, define pneumatic and cooling sub-system specifications at component level.
- Work with suppliers to identify in market the related components meeting the defined specifications.
- Design piping and hosing elements connecting the pneumatic and cooling sub-system components in accordance with international safety and quality standards.
- Create 3D models and technical drawings, conducting DFM principles in the design process.
- Travel to supplier sites as necessary.
- Build pneumatic and cooling sub-systems on the power system prototype – hands on!
- Conduct power system tests; optimize pneumatic and cooling sub-system operation settings to meet performance and efficiency targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive or aerospace engineering; Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of pneumatic and/or cooling system design experience in automotive or aerospace applications
- Knowledge of high-pressure storage and usage of hydrogen or other gases
- Basic understanding of compressors and turbocharging
- Proficiency in at least one CAD software with sheet metal, part and assembly design skills
- Experience in DFM, APQP and supplier management on a technical basis
- Ability to work hands-on to fulfill assembly and testing tasks
